Well... I'm a warrior, and a dragoon... I've been through countless battles in worlds beyond this one.

It was no trouble, I promise. As a member of the Guard it's my duty to protect others from the monsters here. It's good that you've recovered, though.

I can hop through the sky, as a dragoon. You saw my power when I brought you to the clinic.
I'm an expert at aerial combat.

But I don't intentionally hop worlds. That just... happened. I'm not even sure how or why.

I had taken you to safety, so my part was done. I'm no healer, but I know that you'd be in good hands there. Besides, I had to return to patrolling, in case there were any other new arrivals.

My jumping is my specialized dragoon ability. I'm able to leap to impossible heights... into the sky itself, when there IS a sky around to leap into. Around here, I can touch the cave ceiling.

I wasn't in need of much rest, I was fine overall.

It feels a lot like flying. I have good control while I'm up there, too. I can target my enemies easily from above.

[Oh, right. Uh... he apparently hadn't been able to hide that it had struck him a couple times there. Whoops.]

So it did. But I'm strong, I can withstand an attack like that easily. It was nothing really, I promise.

hmmm... okay if you say so.

You could call it something like that. It's an unusual ability, although it doesn't actually take any magic to do it, in the traditional sense. Unlike a mage, I don't exhaust magical energy.

[You won't see him chugging down ethers in battle- they just don't work for him. But if he were physically exhausted, he'd be unable to jump as effectively.]

I promise, I'm fine. [Oh, dear, the classic "I'm fine." Kain just hopes he'll believe him well enough, he doesn't need anyone else getting to know his bad habits about healing.]
